We are currently finishing the process of moving house (or at least trying to) and let me tell you it is giving me serious anxiety. My environments are super important to me and even though were moving house with friends we love, I am super anxious to get settle and organized as quickly as possible. Anyone else feel me?
Here are some things I have been loving lately....
I hear all the time from friends, "I want to plan a small shower but have no idea how to do that!" or "I know her family is throwing her a party but I would love to do something small for her here too." I, too, have frequently been in the boat of planning a "small" shower to celebrate a friend. I recently helped throw what I am calling a "Mini Shower" for my friend Nicole as her larger and more formal shower was thrown by family and friends in her hometown in Michigan.
We love the GriffithObservatory. If you have read my blog for a while you have seen or watched our tales from Hollywood's best vantage point.
When our friends visited from Mississippi we knew Griffith was the best spot to show them...well...ALL of LA. We drove up in early afternoon and took our time walking around the various observation decks, sticking to the outside to get all the best views. We also stepped into the Telescope atrium for a sneaky peak. The telescope is open for actual viewing in the evenings until 9:30 pm.
One my dearest friends Michelle is expecting her first baby - a boy due this summer! We have known Michelle and her husband Pat for years and I was honored to host her baby shower alongside some of our closest friends earlier this season. The second I found out Michelle was expecting I bought the napkins and bunting.
I am so excited to bring you all the first post in my contributor series. One of my best friends, Laurel, is one of the best hosts I know and she routinely throws the best themed parties at her craftsman home in Ohio. She shared with me the details of her Beauty And The Beast Tea Party and I thought it was perfectly timed to the movies release on video! I hope this encourages you to through your own watch party at home with all of these sweet details.
Although our church here in LA is small, we are committed to maintaining a regular rhythm of womens-only events that encourage both spiritual growth and fellowship amongst the ladies of our community.
When working long hours or getting caught up in the business of day-to-day life, I find myself often missing the company of my girl friends. Seeing my gal pals a couple times a week for missional community small group or for our discipleship night is AMAZING don't get me wrong.
But there is something very special about the company of a larger group of women.
YOU GUYS...this might be one of my favorite blog posts to date. The other weekend myself, Jeff and our friends Caleb and Marinna hopped in our hatch-back and drove to the ever-instagrammableAntelope Valley Poppy Reserve. After Southern California experienced her long awaited "Super Bloom", the reserve was flooded with visitors and my social media feed was flooded with photos of the spectacular orange colored hills.
In late February our missional community small group (affectionately known as Tall House) went on our 2nd annual retreat up to mountains of Lake Arrowhead.
After almost doubling our group in size (praise God) we still managed to find an amazing Air BnB that comfortably housed all 15 of us. Because of our need for a larger house, we also managed to get one of the gorgeous properties right above the Lake. Our house featured 2 large back desks with panoramic Lake views, cathedral windows and an awesome finished basement with a pool table.
Welcome to City and Grace where I share about life in Los Angeles, travel adventures and how to live more graciously.

Thursday's are for topknots, stripes and boots. Loving this ruffled @jcrew style c/o @laurelwilson. It's definitely the most comfortable skirt I own. #autumnmood #fallstyle #ootd #navyforever
All. Pumpkin. Everything. 🍂Trader Joe's is giving me all the fall vibes recently...which helps as I long for turtlenecks in this continuous 75* weather. #autumn #falltime #warmweather #notcomplaining
The new uniform: ruffle blouse, skinnies and a classic pump. I'm getting excited to start a (sort of) capsule fall wardrobe. #fallfashion #ootd #classics #autumnmood
When it's finally October and you just spent the weekend with amazing women and then find the most perfect protea amidst the flowers at Trader Joe's. #fallfeels #bestweekend #protea #autumntime
Jeff and I spent the weekend resting, rejuvenating, praying and planning for the year ahead. It was honestly so life giving to make s'mores with friends, lay in our backyard, drink wine on the town and boat around the marina. We've decided to do more of it. #datenight #weekendvibes #autumn #lifeabundant
